In 2022, Moringa School, a premier tech education institution in Kenya, achieved accreditation by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) under the Kenya TVET Act of 2013. This significant accomplishment was made possible by the leadership and dedication of the accreditation project team with myself taking point on the entire process.
Together with my team Accreditation Teammates: Nelly Agyemang-Gyamfi, Allan Ong’ang’a, Arnold Mate, and Ronnie Gonahasa, we worked tirelessly to ensure that Moringa School met the rigorous standards set forth by TVETA for accreditation as a training center that can offer Craft/Professional Certificates in the fields of Data Science and Software Engineering as per the framework provided by the Kenya National Qualification Framework (KNQF). This included implementing best practices in:
- Curriculum development
- Student support.
In addition, we lobbied the management to ensure that the institution also had the necessary:
- Resources to provide high-quality tech education.
ISO 9001:2015 QMS certification of Moringa School:
In addition to the accreditation by TVETA, I also played a key role in leading the process that resulted in Moringa School achieving ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) certification in 2022 under the scope of “Providing market-aligned skills training for career-readiness”. This certification, which is recognized globally, demonstrates that the institution is committed to:
- Providing market-aligned skills training
The achievement of both TVETA Accreditation and ISO 9001:2015 QMS Certification is a testament to the hard work and dedication of myself and the entire Moringa School team. It also serves as a clear indication of the institution’s commitment to providing the highest quality tech education to its students and to continuously improving its processes and systems. This is a great achievement for the institution and will help to further enhance its reputation as a premier provider of tech education in Kenya.
